CyberSecurity Footprint Analysis

Every organization has an online presence for business purposes, but mishandling and poor management of that presence may leave the organization open to cyber-attacks. This information is often used by malicious entities to profile a company and develop an attack strategy. Because the information is obtained using passive information gathering techniques, an organization may be completely unaware of an impending attack.

A live demonstration of a cybersecurity footprint analysis will reveal how an attacker starts with a single piece of information and is able to extrapolate that information into attack vectors against an organization. The Mako Group will profile an organization to identify seemingly benign information that can be leveraged into a cyber-attack and provide recommendations for combating these threats.

Presentation takeaways

• Ability to complete a limited scope cybersecurity footprint
• Resources to find additional open source intelligence tools commonly used by attackers
• Knowledge of the information commonly collected by attackers and used to profile organizations
• General best practices for protecting an organization against passive reconnaissance gathering
