Creating an information security program can be daunting. Where do you start? How do you know if you’re doing it right?

There are plenty of resources available, but I believe two documents will get you to the right place. NIST Cybersecurity Framework and SANS 20 Critical Security Controls. This will be a high level discussion of how to interpret these documents and how to use them to create your own Information Security Program.

It always feels overwhelming, but breaking it into manageable steps and persistence will bring you an “I can sleep at night” Information Security Program.
